In Kiev, TRC officers detained the rector of the Alexander Nevsky Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

An incident involving the detention of the rector of the Alexander Nevsky Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Yaroslav Kruglenko, by officers of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) has occurred in the Ukrainian capital. The clergyman was reportedly detained in Kyiv, transported between districts and is allegedly preparing to be sent to Dnipro, with communications with him remaining cut off.
According to the UOJ publication, the incident took place on February 24, 2026 at around 17:00. The priest was detained on Polyarnaya Street, near the store “Leroy Merlin”, after which he was taken to the TRC at 26, Jordan Street.
According to information from the clergyman’s wife, Archpriest Yaroslav Kruglenko was held in TRC without the possibility to contact his relatives. Later he was transported to the Darnitsky district of the capital, and there was no communication with him until midnight.
Around 00:00 the priest managed to briefly call his spouse and inform that he was planned to be sent to Dnipro during the night. At the moment the exact location of the Archpriest is unknown, and there is no communication with the family.
