After the end of the war, the issue of the status of autocephaly of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be resolved very quickly - Palchuk

Archdeacon Andriy Palchuk, a well-known blogger and cleric of the Odessa diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, has shared information about the future of relations between the Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox Churches after the war. According to Palchuk, after the end of the conflict, the Primate of the UOC plans to consider the issue of autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church. He said in a video message in his Telergam channel.
«Last summer, at two bishops’ meetings, our Primate His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius clearly said that our roads with the Russian Orthodox Church have completely diverged. After the end of the war, the issue of the status of autocephaly of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be resolved very quickly, » the archdeacon said, citing his own sources.
We would like to remind you that Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich), the manager of affairs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, made a clarification about the spiritual dangers of striving for church autocephaly if it becomes an end in itself or a tool of politics. According to him, when independence is placed above unity in Christ, it can cause irreparable harm to the Church, lead to schism and replace the Orthodox consciousness of the people with nationalistic ideology.
