The Polish Orthodox Church reaffirmed its position on the OCU and called for the convening of a Pan-Orthodox Council

The Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church (PAOC) has reaffirmed its position on the need to resolve the church conflict related to the creation of the OCU at the Pan-Orthodox Council. This is reported by the official website of the Polish Church.

on March 10, 2026, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland, the spring session of the Holy Bishops’ Council of the OCU was held. According to the communiqué, the Council reviewed the current situation of Orthodoxy in the modern world, in particular in light of documents received from several Local Churches, such as Constantinople, Alexandria, Romania, Greece, Ukraine, and Lithuania.

The OCU emphasized that the issues that arose after the creation of the OCU should be resolved by the entire Orthodox Church through the Pan-Orthodox Council. The Holy Council of Bishops supported this position, noting that «the situation should be resolved at the Pan-Orthodox Council of Local Churches.»

Earlier, the hierarch of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, Archbishop Theodosius of Sevastopol, declared the readiness of the Jerusalem Patriarchate to provide a platform for a church-wide council dedicated to resolving the crisis around the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and problems in world Orthodoxy. The hierarch emphasized that the Primates of the Churches should meet to overcome the split and restore unity, while recognizing only the canonical UOC, led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy.
