Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria expressed support for the Patriarchate of Jerusalem amid the Middle East conflict

Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria held telephone talks with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, during which he expressed deep concern about the ongoing military actions in the Middle East and expressed his full support for the Jerusalem Orthodox Church.
According to Orthodox Times, the conversation took place on March 30, 2026. The Primate of the Bulgarian Church expressed particular concern over reports of restrictions on access to the Church of the Resurrection. For his part, Patriarch Theophilos III informed his colleague about the current situation in Jerusalem and the region, emphasizing the assurances he had received that services during Holy Week and Easter would be held without obstacles.
During the dialog, Patriarch Daniel expressed his unconditional support for the Jerusalem Patriarchate and its long-suffering flock enduring difficult trials. He emphasized that the Bulgarian Orthodox people pray daily for the Holy Church of Sion and for all those who suffer the consequences of the armed clashes. At the end of the conversation, the two sides exchanged wishes for world peace and expressed hope for a joyful celebration of the bright Resurrection of Christ.
