Head of OCU Epiphany Dumenko discusses interchurch relations with British Ambassador

Head of the OCU Epifaniy Dumenko met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Ukraine Neil Crompton to discuss the role of the Church in the war and international support for Kyiv. The key topics of the conversation were the processes of seizures of UOC churches in favor of the OCU. This is reported by the press service of the OCU.

During the dialogue, which took place on April 14, 2026, at the Metropolitan’s residence, Dumenko expressed confidence in the spiritual strength of the Ukrainian people. “The Russians attacked, arrogantly believing that they would easily capture our territories, but they faced a spiritually strong nation,” the head of the OCU emphasized, adding that he expects a fair end to the military conflict in favor of Ukraine.

The meeting ended with a symbolic gesture: Epiphany Dumenko presented the British diplomat with an Easter cake, while Neil Crompton handed the head of the OCU a packet of tea.

As reported, on March 7, 2026, the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, met in Kyiv with the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kirill Budanov. The main topics of the dialogue were church-state relations and countering “hostile influence” in the spiritual sphere.
