The Supreme Court of Ukraine will consider the appeal of the Kyiv Metropolitan Church of the UOC in the case of termination of its activity

The Cassation Administrative Court of the Supreme Court of Ukraine has scheduled for May 19, 2026 the appeal hearing of the case on the lawsuit to terminate the activity of the religious organization «Kyiv Metropolitanate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church».

According to the State Service of Ukraine on Ethno-politics and Freedom of Conscience (SSEC), the relevant decision was fixed by the court ruling of April 27, 2026. The court hearing in case No. 855/11/25 (proceedings A/990/15/25) will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the premises of the Cassation Administrative Court at the address: Kiev, Princes Ostrozhskyi Street, 8, bldg. 5.

The subject of consideration will be the appeal of the Kyiv Metropolitan Church of the UOC against the decision of the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal of October 30, 2025. This process has been initiated within the framework of the HESS lawsuit aimed at the forced termination of the activity of the central executive body of the UOC as a legal entity. The upcoming session of the Supreme Court will be a key stage in the legal dispute over the status of a religious organization.
