Patriarch John X of Antioch visited the Patriarchate of Constantinople

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople received His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch at his residence at the Phanar. The visit was dedicated to the celebration of Holy Pascha and the strengthening of fraternal relations between the two Ancient Patriarchates.
According to Fos Fanariou, Patriarch John X arrived in Istanbul after completing a pastoral tour of southeastern Turkey, which is under the jurisdiction of the Antiochian Church. His visit to the residence of the Patriarch of Constantinople was in response to an earlier invitation from Patriarch Bartholomew and an opportunity to personally convey Easter greetings.

After worshipping the shrines in the Patriarchal Cathedral of St. George, the guest was officially received by Patriarch Bartholomew. The meeting that followed was attended by prominent hierarchs, including Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, chairman of the Synodal Commission for Inter-Orthodox Affairs, and Metropolitan Gregory of Ankara. On the side of the Antiochian delegation, Metropolitan Ephrem of Aleppo, Bishop Paul of Tarsus and Archimandrite Parthenios Allati were present.
