The Chairman of the Russian Orthodox Church DECR met with the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad in Munich

Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR). During the visit, the parties discussed topical issues of church interaction and took part in anniversary events in Germany.

According to the official portal mospat.ru, the conversation took place in a warm fraternal atmosphere. The talks were attended by Metropolitan Mark of Berlin and Germany, Bishop Job of Stuttgart, Vicar of the German Diocese of the ROCOR, and representatives of the clergy: Archpriest Seraphim Gan, Administrator of the Synod of Bishops of the ROCOR, and Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the ROCOR. At the end of the meeting the hierarchs exchanged memorable gifts.

As part of his visit, Metropolitan Anthony also attended the international scientific conference «Heritage and Vocation», timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the German Diocese of the ROCOR. The event was held in the historic Blutenburg Castle in the vicinity of Munich. The conference was also attended by Archbishop Tikhon of Ruzsk, Administrator of the Berlin-German Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
