Delegation of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church to visit Georgia in connection with the election of a new Patriarch

Representatives of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church are on their way to Tbilisi to participate in the solemn events marking the election and enthronement of the new Primate of the Georgian Orthodox Church — Patriarch Shio III.
According to Orthodoxia News Agency, by decision of the Holy Synod, the official delegation of the Bulgarian Patriarchate will visit Georgia from May 16 to 19. The mission includes high-ranking clergymen: Metropolitan John of Varna and Velikopreslavl, as well as Metropolitan Gregory of Vrachansk, accompanied by officials.
The purpose of the visit is to participate in the Cathedral Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the assumption of office of the new head of the ancient Georgian Church. It should be recalled that His Beatitude Patriarch Shio III was elected Primate on May 11 at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi, and the solemn ceremony of his enthronement to the patriarchal throne took place on May 12.
