The DESS has warned heads of religious organizations that there is no automatic renewal of reservations

The State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) has issued an official clarification for religious organizations regarding the procedure for booking military conscripts. According to the agency’s statement, inclusion of an organization in the updated list of critical facilities does not mean automatic extension of reservations for its employees and clergymen.

According to the official website of the DESS, even if the organization is on the list approved by Order No. N-72/11 of 08.05.2026, existing deferrals require re-issuance. In particular, if the reservation was issued before June 6, 2026, representatives of religious communities need to resubmit the package of documents to confirm the status of their employees.

To implement the procedure of re-booking, organizations should follow the current instructions published in a special section of the civil service portal: clergy booking. The Office urges the heads of religious organizations to update the documentation in a timely manner to avoid interruption of deferrals.

We will remind, earlier we reported that in the State service of Ukraine on ethno-politics and freedom of conscience (DESS) confirmed the discrimination of priests of the UOC in the issue of reservation of clergy from mobilization.
