A hierodeacon from the Petropavlovsky Monastery in the Vladimir-Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was killed on the front lines

The press office of the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reported the tragic death of Hierodeacon Nifont (Shendyapin), a monk at the St. Peter and Paul Monastery in Svitiaz. The clergyman, who had previously been forcibly conscripted, died on the front lines of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

According to the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the UOC, Metropolitan Volodymyr, as well as the clergy and faithful of the diocese, expressed their deepest condolences to the abbot and the monastic community of the St. Peter and Paul Monastery, as well as to the deceased’s family, loved ones, and comrades-in-arms. However, the circumstances of the clergyman’s death have not been disclosed.

The Church calls on all believers to offer prayers for the repose of the soul of the newly departed warrior and hierodeacon Nifont.
