A meeting of the hierarchs of the OCU was held at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

On July 14, 2026, in the Refectory Church of Saints Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves on the grounds of the Holy Dormition KyivCave Lavra, an event titled “Bishops’ Council of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine” took place, led by the head of the OCU, Epiphanius Dumenko. According to Pomisna.info, 52 hierarchs of the OCU participated in the council.
The meeting was preceded by a divine service, after which the participants honored the memory of Ukraine’s fallen defenders. During the official part of the session, Dumenko delivered a report on the OCU’s activities over the past year, beginning on July 14, 2025.
Following the discussion, the participants unanimously approved all decisions of the OCU Synod adopted during the reporting period and expressed their full support for the course set by Epiphanius Dumenko. The text of the “Message to the Ukrainian Flock,” timed to coincide with the celebration of the 1,038th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’, was also adopted.
As a reminder, earlier, the head of the OCU, Epiphanius Dumenko, during a meeting with a delegation from the Mount Athos monastery of New Esfigmen, stated th , the current process of displacing monks of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is a process of “liberation” of this monastery from the so-called “shackles of the Rus’ world.”
