Regarding Iran, Parolin called for the resumption of negotiations, emphasizing that the suspension of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action raises concerns for global security.

Responding to questions about the construction of military fortifications in the Gaza Strip, the cardinal reiterated the Holy See’s official position: “No to walls, yes to bridges.” In addition, the Vatican representative commented on the recent acts of violence in Bologna, Italy, calling for the truth to be established in a calm atmosphere, since “violence never brings results.”
