Patriarch Daniel of Romania Celebrated His 75th Birthday

The Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Daniel, celebrated his 75th birthday while carrying out his duties, emphasizing the significance of this day as an occasion to give thanks to God. According to the website “Life of the Church,” the celebration took place at the “Family” Cultural and Missionary Center in Pantelimon, where official meetings and a divine service were held.

As part of the working visit, preparations for the International Meeting of Orthodox Youth, scheduled for 2026 in Bucharest, were discussed. The choice of venue was not accidental: according to Patriarch Daniel, this year in the Romanian Patriarchate is dedicated to pastoral care for the Christian family, and the center itself has become an important venue for spiritual and cultural dialogue.

During the ceremony, a commemorative anthology published by the “Basilica” publishing house was presented. Historical continuity was also emphasized: a new church has been built on the center’s grounds, symbolizing the restoration of the traditions of the Monastery of St. Panteleimon, which was destroyed in 1986. “A family that raises children in the faith, in humble love, and in mercy is a family that produces saints,” the Patriarch noted in his speech, emphasizing the fundamental role of educating the younger generation.

The celebration concluded with a Te Deum service led by Auxiliary Bishop Paisios of Sinai, followed by official congratulations from representatives of the public and the clergy.
