A monastic tonsure ceremony took place at the Krasnogorsk Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Transcarpathia

A monastic tonsure ceremony took place at the Krasnogorsk All Saints Men’s Monastery in Mukachevo. The service was presided over by Metropolitan Theodore of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod. This was reported by the Information Center of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Novice Vadim Serkhovets became a new resident of the monastery; during the tonsure, he took the name Euthymius in honor of St. Euthymius the Great. At the conclusion of the service, the hierarch congratulated the monastery’s abbot, Bishop Hilarion, and the entire brotherhood on the addition to their monastic family.
In his pastoral address, Metropolitan Theodore wished the newly tonsured monk spiritual steadfastness, a spirit of prayer, and sincere obedience. His Eminence emphasized that the monastic path is a path of sacrificial love for Christ, and called on the faithful to pray for the strengthening of Monk Euthymius on the path of spiritual struggle he has chosen.
