The Phanar's Exarch in Lithuania visited the Ukrainian Embassy in Vilnius

On August 27, 2026, Bishop Panaret of Tamis, acting as the Patriarchal Exarch of Lithuania, paid an official visit to the Ukrainian Embassy in Vilnius. The meeting was hosted by Olga Nikitenko, Ukraine’s ambassador to Lithuania, according to the Orthodoxia News Agency ( ).
During the conversation, Bishop Panaret conveyed words of support and blessings on behalf of Patriarch Bartholomew. The visit coincided with the celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day, which was observed on August 24. The parties discussed the difficult situation resulting from the ongoing hostilities and emphasized the importance of humanitarian and pastoral assistance.
During the meeting, special attention was given to supporting Ukrainian refugees in Lithuania and meeting the spiritual needs of believers who find themselves far from home.

In the Phanar’s Lithuanian Exarchate, officials claim that the LOC MP is misleading believers from Ukraine who “do not understand ideological affiliations.”
