TRC officers detained another priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Vinnytsia region

On September 3, 2026, an incident involving the detention of a clergyman occurred in the Chechelnytskyi District of the Tulchyn Diocese. Officers from the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) forcibly detained Archpriest Dimitri Kolchenko, the rector of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s church in the village of Britavka.

According to information received by , after his detention, the clergyman was taken to the city of Haisyn. Parishioners are expressing concern over the incident and are asking the public to pray for their abducted pastor.

As a reminder, American politician Anna Paulina Luna has sharply criticized the forced conscription of clergy from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) into the armed forces. In her view, the practice of sending clergy to the front lines constitutes a violation of international law and human rights.
