A court in Kyiv will hear the case regarding the dissolution of the Kyiv Metropolis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on September 10

The Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal in Kyiv will hear the case regarding the termination of the activities of the Kyiv Metropolis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). The court hearing is scheduled for September 10, 2026.

As was informed by Archpriest Nikita Chekman, a lawyer for the UOC , the hearing will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the courthouse located at 8 Knyaziv Ostrozhskykh Street, Kyiv. This trial is one of the key stages in the ongoing legal disputes surrounding the canonical church in Ukraine.

In connection with the upcoming trial, the defense has appealed to the faithful and the public for spiritual support. “We ask for your holy prayers and support!” — urged Archpriest Nikita Chekman, a human rights advocate, in his appeal.

As a reminder, it was previously reported that more than ten thousand parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) officially filed legal petitions to defend the interests of the Kyiv Metropolis. The scale of support from the faithful demonstrates unprecedented unity amid ongoing pressure on the religious organization.
