The head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church—Kyiv Patriarchate accused the Orthodox Church of Ukraine of cyberattacks on the organization's official accounts

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church—Kyiv Patriarchate (UOC-KP) reported systematic hacking of its social media pages, blaming representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) for the incidents. The conflict centers on the blocking of digital resources which, according to the UOC-KP, are used to disseminate their position.

According to , a statement by the “patriarch” of the UOC-KP, Nikodim Kobzar, dated September 22, 2026, states that the attackers gained unauthorized access to the accounts of Nikodim himself, “Archbishop” Yevgeny, as well as to the official pages of the UOC-KP and the Sumy Theological Seminary named after Petro Mohyla. Representatives of the UOC-KP emphasize that any attempts to restore or create new accounts are prevented by blocking them.

The UOC-KP believes that such “cyberattacks” are initiated by the leadership of the OCU with the aim of suppressing the organization’s activities and hindering the preservation of the legacy of the late Filaret Denisenko. In light of these events, the organization has officially appealed to Ukrainian law enforcement agencies and the cyber police, demanding that the perpetrators be identified and held accountable in accordance with the law.

As a reminder, earlier, the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church–Kyiv Patriarchate (UOC-KP), Nikodim Kobzar , issued an official appeal to government agencies, the military command, and law enforcement agencies, demanding an end to violations of the law during mobilization efforts. According to the head of the church, the clergy has been receiving numerous complaints from citizens regarding methods of forced mobilization, which have been viewed negatively by the public.
