The nature reserve is switching the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to its winter operating schedule

The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve has officially announced the transition to its winter operating schedule, which will remain in effect until March 31, 2027. The updated schedule is designed to optimize visitor access to cultural sites during the cold season.

Under the new rules, the exhibition halls in buildings No. 1, 3, 4, and 25 will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Mondays and Tuesdays closed. At the same time, the Great Lavra Bell Tower, the Refectory Church with its chamber, as well as the ticket offices at the tour desk and the Economic Gate, will remain open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (tickets for guided tours are sold until 4:00 p.m.). The administration reminds visitors that on Monday and Tuesday, they can still stroll through the reserve’s grounds and visit the bell tower and the Refectory Church.

As a reminder, we previously reported that another secular event took place at the Spassky Cathedral in Chernihiv—which had previously been seized from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church—a move that drew sharp criticism from believers. Instead of the traditional memorial service for the deceased medical workers, the authorities organized a concert in the cathedral, featuring musicians playing guitars right at the altar.
