The Vatican's humanitarian aid to Ukraine has exceeded one billion euros

Archbishop Visvaldas Kulbokas, the Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine, reported that the total value of humanitarian and psychological aid provided to Ukraine through international church organizations has reached one billion euros. This was reported by the CREDO portal.
As part of a large-scale aid program, Catholic religious organizations are providing those in need with food, drinking water, and housing. Particular attention is being paid to supporting internally displaced persons, as well as providing professional psychological rehabilitation to citizens affected by the conflict. The archbishop emphasized the significance of this contribution, noting that the Catholic community in the country is small: collectively, parishioners of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Roman Catholics, and believers of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese make up about 14% of Ukraine’s population.
As a reminder, we previously reported that representatives of the UGCC have expressed extreme concern over the growth of parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Western Europe. In particular, Taras Antoshevsky, editor-in-chief of the Uniate publication “RISU,” claims that clergy of the UOC abroad, under the guise of developing parishes, are collaborating “with agents” in order to further influence Ukrainians in the diaspora.
