The head of the Greek Catholics of Hungary asked the Pope not to unite the UGCC with the Mukachevo diocese

Pope Francis received Archbishop and Metropolitan of Haidudorog, head of the Greek Catholic Church in Hungary, Fülöp Kocsis, at a personal audience at the Vatican. This is reported by Zakarpattya.online.
According to Kocsis himself, he prioritized «asking the Holy Father to talk about the situation of the Greek Catholic Church in Transcarpathia», which is actively discussed by the Ukrainian Greek Katholics.
He recalled during the conversation that «the diocese has always been directly subordinate to the Pope,» that Mukachevo has always enjoyed «independence, which, based on history, has always belonged to him, since the diocese has always been directly subordinate to the Pope.»
