The UOC spoke about the features of fasting and visiting temples during the quarantine period

During the quarantine period, the Church urges to observe epidemiological instructions – to wear a mask and refrain from visiting churches if you feel unwell, said the rector of the KDAiS, Bishop Sylvester (Stoychev).
“In the conditions of the epidemic, the Church has repeatedly expressed in official appeals that believers need to be in medical masks in the church, and if they feel unwell, refrain from going to the temple and be sure to go to the attending physician. As for kissing icons, in this matter, the Church, given the pandemic, does not oblige believers to kiss icons. By the way, I would like to note that the surface of all icons in churches is treated with disinfectants,” said Bishop Sylvester.
Bishop Sylvester noted that “if a person feels unwell, is in the so-called risk zone for health reasons or due to old age, then it is better for him to avoid attending divine services, but such a decision is justified if the person really does not go out and is isolated”.
