Websites that use the names of revered saints have been added to the list of pseudo-church resources

Sites with the names of the revered saints in their titles have been added to the list of resources that raise funds for church services and have no official relation to the Russian Orthodox Church. This is reported by Patriarchia.ru.

The list, created with the aim of protecting believers from abuse on the Internet, was supplemented by three links:

https://nikolapomogi.ru

https://sergradpomogi.ru

https://spiridonpomogi.ru

“Until all the accusations of fraud against these sites are considered in the manner prescribed by law, it is not possible to confirm or deny them, but the Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media warns believers that the Russian Orthodox Church cannot bear any responsibility for the fact that all notes and donations submitted by believers through these sites will reach churches and monasteries, which are indicated by these services as addressees. We also failed to find any public financial statements of organizations operating through these sites, ”it was reported.

As a reminder, the website of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate for Church Relations with Society and the Media has created a section entitled “Combating Abuses on the Internet.” It contains a list of online resources engaged in the unauthorized collection of donations on behalf of the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as information about persons who pretend to be clergy and thereby mislead believers.

The section is updated periodically.
