Patriarch of Antioch is ready to provide assistance to Abkhazia through the church line

On May 19, President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania, who is on an official visit to Syria, met in Damascus with Patriarch John X of Antioch, Cleric News writes.
“Your arrival is a great honor for us. We wish your state, church and all the people of Abkhazia peace, joy and all the best, and we are ready to provide your country with any help that you need on the Christian and church lines,” said John H. Aslan Bzhania noted that he is also a great honor personally get acquainted with the Patriarch.
“Christianity has great historical roots in Abkhazia, and we have a huge number of Christian monuments. As the head of state, I am a believer, and our people understand the importance of religion in the modern world,” said the President of Abkhazia.
At the end of the meeting, the President of Abkhazia and the Patriarch of Antioch exchanged gifts.
