How Greek Catholics held a rock festival in an Orthodox shrine

In the complex of the former Residence of Orthodox Metropolitans in Chernivtsi, Greek Catholic youth held a rock festival, the headliner of which was the head of the UGCC Svyatoslav Shevchuk. The Orthodox remained silent, writes Ukraine.ru.

The rock festival «Obnova-fest», which has been held in Chernivtsi since 2008 by the society of Ukrainian Catholic students «Obnova», this year has turned into a real action of proselytism, that is, attempts to convert others to their faith.

Firstly, the event took place in the complex of the former Residence of the Orthodox Metropolitans of Bukovina and Dalmatia (now it houses the central buildings of the Chernivtsi National University, and the complex is included in the list of UNESCO monuments). And secondly, the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Svyatoslav Shevchuk became the main protagonist of the festival, the newspaper writes.

Traditionally, «Obnova-fest» was held on a very spacious territory of the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Architecture and Life on the outskirts of the city.
