Director of the Kiev-Pechersk Reserve about the presence of the UOC in it: Why should I be against it?

The head of the National Reserve «Kiev-Pechersk Lavra» Alexander Rudnik, appointed by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, sees no reason for the resettlement of representatives of the UOC from the territory of the reserve. He announced this during a conversation with journalists from Skhemy (a project of Radio Liberty).
Answering the question whether the UOC monastery should continue to be located on the territory of the National Reserve «Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra», Oleksandr Rudnik noted that «legally, this is a matter for the Cabinet of Ministers.» To a clarifying question, what is his position as the head of the reserve, the director replied that he had nothing against the presence of the UOC there.
Alexander Rudnik also noted: “Firstly, I try to build normal relations between the reserve and all users and tenants. This does not mean any corrupt actions or indulgence in one or another. No. Assistance is the preservation of monuments in the first place.”
