Metropolitan of Cherkasy and Kanev Feodosy spoke about the actions of law enforcement agencies against him

On February 20, 2023, the interrogation of the Metropolitan of Cherkasy and Kanev Feodosy was held in the Cherkasy district prosecutor’s office, after which the Sosnovsky District Court elected a measure of restraint in the form of a personal obligation. The Orthodox Cherkashchens came to support the manager of the diocese, communicating with whom the bishop said that he did not agree with the charges and thanked believers for his support. This was reported by the information and educational department of the UOC.

Metropolitan Feodosy noted that those who came to support him that day did this at the call of their hearts and on their own initiative and thanked that they «did not come to protect me, but Cherkasy Orthodoxy.»

“I understand that if we ask the Orthodox Cherkasy residents to come here, then there will be thousands,” he said.

The bishop spoke about the charges against him (Article 161 of the Criminal Code — violation of the equality of citizens, depending on their racial, national, regional affiliation, religious beliefs, etc.) and said that it would continue to be personally or in case of arrest through the clergy to inform believers about the progress of affairs.
