Believers of the UOC were outraged by the check in the Lavra

The head of the Information and Education Department of the UOC, Metropolitan Kliment (Vecherya), commented on the appearance of auditors from the National Reserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” on the territory of the Near Caves, Strana.ua reports.

Metropolitan Kliment noted that traditionally the actions of the authorities in the Lavra are carried out with disregard for all legal requirements. And he described the reaction of believers who prayed at the holy relics in the Near Caves of the Lavra to the appearance of a check from the Ministry of Culture.

“They were extremely indignant at everything that was happening and openly expressed their dissatisfaction with such behavior of officials, who did not even bother to explain by what right they carry out their sudden checks without warning the monastics in advance,” the bishop Kliment said.
