The decision of the Government regarding the Lavra is groundless and will be appealed – Legal Department of the UOC

On March 30, 2023, the Government declared invalid the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated July 11, 2013 No. 519 “The issue of transferring buildings and structures to the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra (monastery) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for free use.” In the Legal Department of the UOC, such a decision was called groundless and illegal. This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.

“The decision is groundless and illegal, because it is inherently politically motivated. In any case, it will be appealed,” the UOC Legal Department noted.
