On April 5, 2023, there was a rude seizure of St. Michael’s Church of the UOC in the village of Zadubrovka, Chernivtsi region, by representatives of the OCU «right during the funeral of the deceased defender of Ukraine, warrior Ivan Nazariy.» This was reported in the Chernivtsi-Bukovina diocese, reports the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.

According to the diocesan press service, approximately 40 people in balaclavas gathered near the temple at approximately 10 am.

At the same time, it is noted that “by mutual agreement of the parties, a funeral is now taking place near the Orthodox Church of the UOC of the brave warrior Ivan Nazariy. Representatives of the OCU serve.

“Right during the funeral, militants in balaclavas are sawing the doors to the altar of the temple. The clergy of the OCU at this time depict a prayer in front of the temple, ”wrote in the diocese.

The diocese reported that the police were absent. At 11, the radicals broke into the temple, arranging a fight.

“Zadubrovka = EVERYTHING,” the press service said, “They cut down the doors. They broke into the temple. Orthodox believers are beaten. The police did not come at all, most likely, such was the agreement.”
