The City Council offered me to dismantle the church with my own hands, - UOC priest

Archpriest Volodymyr Kuzio, the rector of the UOC church demolished by the authorities in Lviv, in a conversation with Dialogue.TUT said that the city council offered him to dismantle the church on his own, promising that they would not touch other churches of the UOC of the city.

“The city council offered me to dismantle the church for the sake of peace in Lviv with my own hands — maybe thanks to this they will not take away the cathedral on Korolenko and the temple on Antonovich,” the priest said and added that for this he was promised “a place in the cathedral.”

“But the Church is the mother. So should I take an ax and go cut it? We did not agree to this,” Father Vladimir said.

The rector also emphasized that “the issue was on such a plane that no matter what we said, nothing depended on us, because everything was decided.”
