Power is playing with a very complex phenomenon - political scientist on religious conflict

Political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko believes that the religious conflict that is flaring up in Ukraine is a very dangerous phenomenon that will be difficult to extinguish. He spoke about this issue in an interview with Alexander Shelest.
“As for power, it plays with a very complex phenomenon. Because religious conflict is the most difficult to extinguish. If only a religious conflict flares up, then it is very difficult to find rational ways to stop it,” Bondarenko emphasized.
“The most brutal wars are religious and interfaith wars. And God forbid we get to the point where we begin to sort things out between representatives of various currents in Orthodoxy. Because it will be quite difficult to stop this and achieve some kind of interfaith peace. We will get our own Sunnis and Shiites, who will sort out these relations, perhaps for decades and centuries,” the political scientist believes.
