Vinnitsa Regional Council terminated land lease agreements with the UOC

The Vinnitsa Regional Council terminated the lease agreements for real estate, land plots and prohibited any use of property that is the common property of the territorial communities of the region with religious organizations of the UOC. 54 out of 60 deputies present at the session of the regional council voted for the relevant decision, Ukrinform reports.

«The Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration has been recommended to carry out a set of measures to conduct an inventory of land plots and existing religious buildings that are in state, communal and private ownership and transferred to the use of religious organizations of the UOC (MP)», the report says.

In addition, the deputies adopted an appeal to the Verkhovna Rada «regarding the immediate consideration of the draft laws «On Ensuring the Strengthening of National Security in the Sphere of Freedom of Conscience and the Activities of Religious Organizations» and «On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Concerning the Activities of Religious Organizations in Ukraine.»
