In Kalush postponed the termination of the contract with the UOC

At the plenary session of the session of the Kalush City Council, held on April 27, 2023, local deputies intended to consider two draft decisions at once related to the termination of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kalush, Vikna reports.
However, consideration of these projects will take place at the next session in two weeks.
It was about the termination of the land lease agreement with the religious organization of the St. Nicholas parish of the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese of the UOC and the appeal of the Kalush city council to cancel the state registration of this religious community.
The site reports that the land lease agreement with the religious organization of the St. Nicholas parish of the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese of the UOC was concluded on January 30, 2003. As reported at the session, the deputies’ land commission proposed to remove the issue from consideration because of the deputies’ intention to go to the site and find out the validity of suspicions regarding the Moscow church’s self-seizure of communal land in addition to the leased 0.1 hectares.
The appeal of the Kalush City Council to cancel the state registration of the St. Nicholas parish of the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese of the UOC was postponed, because, as reported at the session, it needs to be finalized. According to Deputy Mayor Nadezhda Gush, the text of the appeal is coordinated with representatives of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, because it is at the regional level that the decision on the registration of religious communities is made. In particular, the legal grounds for such a decision need to be improved.
