Epifaniy Dumenko: It makes no sense to unite with those who have different values

The head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko, in an interview with gazeta.ua, answering a question about the possibility of unification with the UOC, said that “it makes no sense to talk about a possible unification with those who openly oppose this, because they have absolutely different values and priorities.”

“We call, but we do not force anyone and we will not do this in the future. In the end, this makes no sense. We do not need collaborators in our ranks who hate everything Ukrainian, or those who are even horrified by a full-scale Russian attack , did not open their eyes and did not become an impetus for a reassessment of being part of the Moscow Patriarchate, especially when they already have their own, truly Ukrainian and autocephalous Orthodox Church, a church that is canonical and recognized by the Ecumenical Patriarchate and other Churches,” said Epifaniy.

He added that “at the same time, we are open to those who sincerely and devotedly want to serve God and their Ukrainian people, and not only disguise themselves and do not look, like the Pharisees, for various senseless excuses for their own unwillingness to break ties with the “Russian world”.
