The Secretary of State of the Vatican, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, told reporters that he was surprised by the statements of representatives of the authorities of Ukraine and Russia that they do not know about the «peacekeeping mission» of the Pope, which is aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, reports ansa.it.

“The peace mission will take place. I am surprised that Kyiv and Moscow said they did not know about this,” Parolin said.

Recall that Pope Francis said that the Vatican is involved in a «secret» peacekeeping mission, which should «put an end to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.»

After the pontiff’s statement, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov criticized the pope’s statement about the peacekeeping mission and said that it was «hard for him to say what kind of initiative we are talking about.»

It is known that according to CNN, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin also knows nothing about the «peacekeeping mission» of the Vatican.
