"Metropolitan" John: In Cherkasy, none of the parishes of the UOC transferred to the OCU

In Cherkasy, not a single parish of the UOC has moved to the OCU, and there are no applicants yet. This was told to Suspilne by the «metropolitan» of this structure, John Yaremenko.

According to him, as of May 2023, 33 parishes have moved to the OCU in the Cherkasy region. «A total of 28 communities were transferred, of which 17 parishes with priests and 11 parishes without priests. Another 5 parishes from Smelyanshchyna transferred,» the «hierarch» said.

However, in the city of Cherkasy, «no one has crossed and no one is willing yet,» he added.
