In Khmelnytsky region, a UOC church was illegally seized

Supporters of the OCU, local activists and representatives of local governments on June 8, 2023 carried out a raider seizure of the Peter and Paul Church of the UOC in the village Korzhevtsy, Khmelnytsky district, the press service of the Khmelnytsky diocese of the UOC reports.

The report says that the rector of the temple, hieromonk Feodosiy, received calls with threats and calls for a voluntary «transition» and the transfer of keys to the temple. Also, the local dean of the OCU offered him a one-on-one meeting «to resolve the issue by dubious methods.»

After an unsuccessful attempt at «persuasion», under the slogan «down with the Moscow priest», representatives and supporters of the OCU cut off the locks to the temple and the residential building and put others in their place. In the temple and building there were personal belongings of the clergy and believers of the Religious community of the Peter and Paul Church, to which they are still deprived of access.

It is known that on the basis of the Peter and Paul parish, a revival of monastic life was begun, and in the future it was planned to restore the Holy Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery, which operated in the village Korzhevtsy from 1742 to 1921. At the time of the raider seizure, 3 monks served and carried obedience there, who today were simply driven out into the street.
