Verkhovna Rada deputy, who supports the OCU, was accused of bribery

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine suspect a Verkhovna Rada MP from the Servant of the People party, Lyudmyla Marchenko, and her assistant in bribery for organizing illegal travel abroad for military conscripts.

In the message of the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine the name of the deputy is not specified, but the media claim that it is about Marchenko, who is known for active cooperation with the leadership of the OCU and repeated receipt of orders from Epiphany Dumenko.

The MP received a bribe in the amount of 5,300 USD for organizing the illegal departure abroad of a man of conscription age. Marchenko and her assistant were exposed in the commission of the crime after receiving the second part of the undue benefit – 2 800 dollars.

The published video shows how on July 5 the assistant receives the money and then hands it to Marchenko on the veranda of the mansion of the MP. Before the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine detectives entered the house territory, the MP tried to get rid of the bribe – began to hide the bills in the yard, and then, changing her mind, threw them over the fence.

Recordings of negotiations and correspondence between the MP and her assistant indicate that the case of organizing the departure of military conscripts abroad was not an isolated one. Officials of different structures were also involved in this.
