Metropolitan Luke: The cross-walkers to Pochaev are confessors. Are we going to keep on flirting?

Metropolitan Luke of Zaporizhzhya recorded a video message in which he calls on the Christians of the UOC to reflect on the feat of the cross walkers to Pochaev and to stop «flirting» with those who offer dialog with the ОCU.

«How they were persecuted, how they were called names, how they were threatened. What they did not do! And now I ask the question to us — are we afraid? Are we going to flirt?» — asks the Metropolitan.

He noted that there is no need to be afraid of such threats, as for example from the head of the village council, who called on the authorities to «deal» with the pilgrims: «Authorities, deal (with the crosswalkers). If you can’t, we’ll sort it out ourselves». With whom? If God is with us, who is against us? Here they are — the confessors. With strollers, with babies. They were walking and nothing.

Metropolitan Luke emphasized that «instead of uniting around Christ, around Mother Church and defending Mother Church, we shout because we need to defend our own. Our own, not our Church.»

The bishop also added the thought of the «Khmelnitsky Treaty»: «How much can we flirt? Flirt with what? Please, the same «Khmelnitsky Treaty». The ink hasn’t cooled yet, and already you’re slapping dirty laundry on your face. Isn’t it? Let’s (continue) to flirt».
