The Office of the UN Commissioner for Human Rights has received information about the beating of a believer in Nosovka

In connection with the beating of a UOC believer by supporters of the OCU and the participation of clergymen of this denomination in it, as well as the absence of a proper preventive response to this case from local law enforcement agencies, representatives of the Office of the UN Commissioner for Human Rights in Ukraine received detailed information about religiously motivated human rights violations in the town of Nosivka. This is reported by the press service of Nizhyn diocese of the UOC.

In particular, it was about threats, intimidation, insults and physical harm to the residents of the town, who are believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

The UN representatives said that they would follow the investigation of the recorded crimes in order to include the facts of human rights violations on religious grounds in the monitoring and report of the UN Commissioner for Human Rights.
