The UN has documented the violation of the rights of believers of the UOC by the Ukrainian authorities

The report of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has recorded a violation of the rights of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This is reported on the organization’s website. We are talking about the fact that the Ukrainian government and authorities have applied a set of measures against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. We are talking, first of all, about the unlawful termination of the agreement on the use of the Church of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.

In addition, the UN reported about 10 facts of documented physical violence and 6 cases of threats to the life of supporters of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. It is worth noting that over the past years representatives of the UOC have been trying to inform the world community about the facts of violation of the rights of clergy and believers of the Church by the state authorities and representatives of alternative religious organizations. Unfortunately, the reaction of world human rights organizations regarding the violation of the rights of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church remains very insufficient to influence the overall situation around the UOC.
