The proposed bill meets all international norms and conventions, - MP on banning the UOC

An MP of Petro Poroshenko’s European Solidarity party, Sofiya Fedina, has said that the draft law No 8221 on banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church proposed by her fellow MPs fully complies with international norms. She said this during the presentation of the propaganda movie “Church without Christ” by MP Mykola Knyazhytskyy.
“As an internationalist, I know what European conventions on human rights, international conventions are. Europeans used to prove: ‘it’s freedom of religion, it’s rights’. But there is one important point in all these conventions: any structure can be banned if it harms national security. And in this case, there is every reason to believe that the Russian Church poses a danger not only to the state, but also to the existence of the Ukrainian state”, – said Fedina.
We shall remind you that earlier we published a list of Ukrainian MPs who signed a petition to submit for consideration bills to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
