I will defend my rights in the UN and the European Parliament - Metropolitan Longin (Zhar)

Metropolitan Longin (Zhar), the vicar of the Banchenko monastery, has said that he will appeal to international human rights organizations to protect the clergy and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the lawless actions of the authorities. The vladyka said in an appeal published on the YouTube channel of the monastery.

“I will ask to be allowed abroad. So that I would seek (defend – ed.) my rights in the European Parliament, in the UN, so that people would realize that our people suffer. And for what – we do not know”, – the Metropolitan said in his address.

In addition, the bishop commented on the judicial investigation against him. “Those who “suffered” from me, they are not on trial. I have never seen them – neither during the investigation, nor today at the trial. For what I am being tried, who I offended, I do not know”, – said Lord Longin.

Earlier, Metropolitan Longin’s adopted son, who fights in the armed forces of Ukraine, recorded a video message in which he criticized the actions of law enforcers against the bishop.
