Synod of the Patriarchate of Antioch called for increased prayers for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

The Holy Synod of the Antiochian Orthodox Church, held on 14 March 2024 at the Balamand Patriarchal Monastery of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lebanon, called for increased prayers for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This is reported by the official website of the Antiochian Patriarchate.
«The Fathers of the Synod call upon their faithful children to intensify prayers for the whole Orthodox Church and its unity, as well as for the professed Ukrainian Orthodox Church during this blessed period. The faithful of this Church are suffering from the brutal blow of war, organised violence and the danger of extinction due to unjust laws aimed at closing parishes and transferring churches to the ownership of other religious groups», — the synod said in a statement.
It is worth noting that representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches constantly express support for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Earlier we reported that the clergy and believers of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church created a petition with an appeal in defence of the UOC. The corresponding petition, signed by about two thousand people, was sent for consideration by the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
