In Ladyzhyn, unknown persons beat up a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

On April 2, 2024 in Ladyzhyn, Vinnytsia region, a group of unknown persons attacked a temporarily adapted prayer room and beat up a clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The event took place actually in the presence of representatives of law enforcement agencies. About it reports the official website of the Tulchinsky diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

«A group of unknown young men broke into the private territory where the priest lives, tore off the locks and penetrated into the house. The priest, who was inside the house, was thrown on the floor, beaten and dragged out into the yard. This all took place in the complete inaction of the police officers, who were present but did not obstruct or detain the young men. The attackers ran away not from the law enforcement officers, who calmly observed, but from the elderly grandmothers of the parishioners, who were at that time in the house and fought back the attackers,» — stated in the message.

Later, on the night of January 9, 2024, the third day of the Christmas holidays, the supporters of the PCU with the help of bulldozers, without waiting for the court decision on the community’s claim, seized the Kazan church of the UOC.
