The “Young Federation” of the Republican Party of the United States called for the protection of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

The co-chair of the National Federation of Young Republicans, Katherine Whiteford, has called to stand up in defense of Ukrainian Christians. She said that the United States should pay attention to the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church that continues in Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian government has launched a false offensive against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Seizures of churches, arrests, and attacks on believers have become an almost daily occurrence. Religious freedom is a fundamental human right, so Americans should be concerned about the banning of a major religious organization by the government of its ally. It is counterproductive to Ukraine’s war. I hope you will join me, contact your representatives in Congress, raise your voice for those who do not have it,” – said Whiteford.

We will remind, the Assistant Secretary of State of the United States in 2017-2021 Robert Destro, who is one of the key members of the team of the candidate for President of the United States Donald Trump, criticized the attempts of the Ukrainian authorities to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Destro called such actions of the authorities “a travesty of democracy” and added that the adoption of the bill No. 8371 would be a direct violation of the rights of believers.
