Hierarchs of the Bulgarian Church served the representatives of the OCU in Istanbul

On May 19, 2024, in Istanbul monastery of the Patriarchate of Constantinople Valukli (the temple “Life-bearing Spring”) took place cultic events, which were led by the head of the Phanar Patriarch Bartholomew. During the service was recorded the fact of co-service of individual hierarchs of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church with representatives of the OCU. It is reported that from the Bulgarian Church in the co-service took part Metropolitan Nicholas of Plovdiv, Metropolitan Cyprian of Old Zagora, Metropolitan Jacob of Dorostol, Bishop Siony of Velichi, Bishop Vissarion of Smolyan. From the side of the OCU were present the head of the press service of the PCU Evstratiy Zorya and an employee of the National Reserve “Kievo-Pechersk Lavra” and part-time vicar of the Kievo-Pechersk monastery of the OCU Avrahamiy Lotysh.

It should be noted that earlier the Bulgarian media reported that on May 19, 2024, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople plans to lead the Divine Service in the Life-Giving Spring Monastery (Valukli Monastery, Istanbul), which will be attended by representatives of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the OCU. Thus, the head of the Phanar established the fact of co-partnership between the BOC and the OCU.
