The court continued Metropolitan Theodosius' overnight house arrest

On May 29, 2024, the Sosnovsky District Court of Cherkasy continued the measure of restraint in the form of overnight house arrest for the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Feodosiy (Snigiryov) of Cherkasy and Kanev. The hierarch has to travel every time from Cherkassy to Kiev, as he is registered in the capital, due to which he does not have a full opportunity to perform Divine services at the pulpit. About it reports “Suspilne.Cherkasy”.
“There is an opportunity to ask for political asylum in a number of countries, but I am interested in an objective consideration of the case. If I go abroad, the curators will have a holiday. Such a pleasure I will not give them. Do not worry, I will not go anywhere, I will not organize such a holiday for you. I am a Ukrainian and I plan to live here for the rest of my life,” — Metropolitan Theodosius said, commenting on the court’s decision. Nevertheless, the court remained unbowed and did not take into account the arguments of the metropolitan, leaving the measure of restraint unchanged.
We will remind, on May 15, 2024 in the Sosnovsky district court of Cherkassy was held another session on the case of the manager of Cherkassy diocese of the UOC Metropolitan of Cherkassy and Kanev Metropolitan Theodosius (Snigiryov). The court heard one more witness of the prosecution, who turned out to be a former priest of the UOC Vasyl Vorushylo from the town of Smyla in Cherkassy region, who had previously converted to the PCU. Vorushylo said that Metropolitan Theodosius allegedly forced to remember Patriarch Kirill during Divine Services and called the PCU non-canonical.
